Two very different historic visits
A castle ticket here is primarily about the hilltop fortress and landscape. The National Palace is a royal residence in the old town. Neither is a substitute for the other if your main interest is specifically furnished interiors or an outdoor walk.
Let the weather influence the plan
Wind, rain and low cloud can change an exposed rampart visit. Check conditions and official access notices before travelling uphill. A palace visit is more interior-focused, although the journey and some parts of the day are still outdoors.
